Abstract:

Join us for a lunch and learn to hear about MedStar Health’s experiences centralizing its prescription renewal workflows and implementing Charlie for Refill Management to scale up operations and increase efficiency. Attendees will be provided a brief overview of the Charlie application, which integrates directly into the Cerner Message Center, before diving into the following topics from MedStar:

• How it set up a centralized workflow pilot
• How the team achieved protocol consensus and reviewed technical requirements
• The impact Charlie has made on workflows

Bios:

Bill Sheahan serves as Vice President of Telehealth at the MedStar Simulation Training and Education Lab (SiTEL) for MedStar Health. Bill also serves as the Deputy Director of the MedStar Institute for Innovation where he leads strategic innovation initiatives and partnerships for the health system. Prior to joining MedStar Health in 2013, Bill had a decorated 15-year career as a paramedic, clinical educator, and public safety executive in New York.

Mark Citrone is the SVP of Sales at Healthfinch. He began his healthcare IT sales career at UpToDate, which was eventually acquired by Wolters Kluwer Health. When he joined Healthfinch, he was the fifth employee and has since overseen sales for the Cerner, Allscripts, and Epic markets. Mark enjoys meeting with providers and healthcare leaders and showing them how to leverage EHR-embedded technologies to streamline clinical workflows and improve outcomes.
